Details: This training is only for school staff and student interns at Journey Mental Health Center who may be involved in CBITS this year. Please attend this training even if you’ve attended previous CBITS training because the interviews will be administered differently than past years. . This training is offered 3 times but you only need to attend once.*This training provides 3.0 CE NBCC/ACEP #6760.* CE certificates will be sent via email after October 10th, 2020

*Journey Mental Health Center has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP No. 6760. Programs that do not qualify for NBCC credits are clearly identified. Journey Mental Health Center is solely responsible for all aspects of this program.
Presenters Bio:
Nelsie Stern
Nelsie Stern is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has been practicing for 10 years. With a focus on trauma therapy, she has worked with children and families in New Orleans and Madison. Nelsie is a Program Manager for several programs at Journey Mental Health Center. She manages the Mental Health First Aid program in Madison and surrounding areas and Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS) program for 5 school districts across Dane County. She is an active member of the Children’s Mental Health Collaborative and co-chairs the Best Practice Committee.

Kimby Hughes
In 2011, Kimby Hughes completed her Masters work in Marriage and Family Therapy and is currently a Doctorate student in Education. Though trained to work with people of all ages, she currently devotes most of her time to supporting the mental health needs of youth and their families. She has a decade of experience in the non-profit world and is passionate about affordable and accessible mental health care. Her training and current research equip her to advocate for youth in schools and to work within the Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS) program through Journey Mental Health Center.
